She was predeceased by: her daughter Sheryol L. Shugar (Kayser) of Waterloo, IA.; her siblings, Dorothy Dralle (Paul), Anna LaCoste, Minnie Kielman (Heine), John Fick (Georgia) and Jean Schaefer (Richard); and her son-in-law Gary Shugar.

She is survived by: her former husband Allen Newell; her grandsons, Jeffrey Kayser and Daniel Kayser; and her great grandchildren, Emmalyn (Cody Fitzpatrick), Carrie and Holly (Zac Illg). She is also survived by her family and friends.
