She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald G. Burkitt and Gladys I. Burkitt (Brookes); and her husband Clinton G. Nelson. She is survived by: her son Brandon Nelson; her siblings, Michael Burkitt, Mark Burkitt (Lisa), Deborah Poe, Dawn Reid (Tim), Donita Krueger (Gordon), Melanie Burkitt and Joy Everhard (Brian Beeker); and her stepsiblings, Randall Petersen (Melissa) and Jennifer Justus. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
