The memory of Marlene Mae Deery of Cedar Falls, Iowa, who passed away on April 26, 2026 at the age of 93, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvester Heiser and Grace Heiser (Gruber); her grandmother Marlene; her brothers, Lloyd and Ralph Heiser; and her great grandchild Eli Deery.

She is survived by: her sons, John Deery (Jodi) of Cedar Falls and Dan Deery (Julie) of Cedar Falls; her grandchildren, Jennifer Conder, Johnny Deery, Daina Weber, Deeni Fischels, DJ Deery, Dustin Deery, Dylan Deery, Deserai Tuttle and Dallas Jenkins; and her close friend Pat Murphy. She is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A rosary was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home & Cremation Service (1825 W 12th St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613). A Mass was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (705 Main St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be directed to St. Patrick Catholic School (https://www.cfcatholicschool.org) please write "Marlene Deery" in the memo line of checks.

“Marlene was a great lady. She is now in Heaven with John. I met Marlene because I was wearing a WI sweatshirt at Church in FL. She told me she was from Plain, and I said my dad was from Plain. When I told her my name, we found out my grandma and her mother were sisters. We have been friends since. I have a picture of her when she was a little girl.
