He was predeceased by: his parents, Beverly Wayne and Darlene Havenstrite (Miller); his sons, James and Jon; and his sister Sara Rumley.

He is survived by: his wife Diana Koch; his granddaughters, Ellie and Natalie; his daughter-in-law Alana; his brother BJ Havenstrite (Pat) of Harrison, Arkansas; and his niece Jennifer Duncan. He is also survived by extended family; dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (715 College St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Hillside Cemetery E Lone.
