He was predeceased by: his parents, Riley Pierce and Charlotte Pierce (Runyan); his son Bradley Pierce of Caro, MI; his siblings, Margie Pierce and James Pierce; and his half-siblings, Kenneth Fods and Karen Mahlstedt (Fods).

He is survived by: his wife Dorene Teeple of Cedar Falls; his sons, Scott Pierce (Carmella Spinelli) of Laurel, MD and Jason Pierce (Mark Fox) of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan), Dustin (Jaclyn), Norman (Ashlee), Allison (Enrique), Philip (Ilyssa) and Colette (AJ); and his great grandchildren, Alexandria, Elizabeth, Ryan, Sylvia, Brianna, Lillian, Owen, Artemis, Cecelia and Rebecca.
