He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. Pershing and Irma Ussery Pershing; his daughter Jill Jorgensen; his sister Beverly; his brother-in-law Ken Stark; his brother Lyle Pershing; and his grandchildren, Kelley McDowell, Matthew Pershing and Adam Pershing.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Beatty; his brother Harold Pershing; his children, Steven Pershing (Sara), Stuart Pershing (Diane), Janet McDowell (Mike) and Jennifer Hicks Pershing (Lisa); his grandchildren, Jason Pershing (Danielle), Andrew Pershing (Karen), Kasey Meinhart (Mark), Kristin Fittje (Nate), Jeffery Pershing, Arin Oppermann (Peter), Peter Jorgensen (Emily), Joseph Jorgensen (Brae) and Cameron Pozo (Gustavo); Alan Jorgensen. He is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
