He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Boesen and Ada Boemecke Boesen; and his brother Ron Boesen. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Briden of Cedar Falls; his children, Andy Boesen (Rachel) of Reinbeck and Niki Boesen (Buffalo Bonker) of Old Hickory, Tenn.; and his grandchildren, Jake Dehut of Des Moines, Tyler Dehut (Jenna Albin) of Des Moines, Kameron Shroyer of Des Moines and Lily Boesen of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
