He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Patten and Dorothy Patten (Flickinger); his wife Mary Jane Patten; and his sister Zora Milne. He is survived by: his children, Sherie Taylor (Mike), Terri Glidewell (Grant), Chuck Patten (Mia), Jodi Wieck (Kurt) and Scott Patten (Tamara); his grandchildren, Casey Taylor (Lindsay), Courtney Ward (Zech), Jennifer Glidewell (Alex), Aaron Glidewell (Hillary), Brandon Patten, Morgan Crawford (Joshua), Paige Hansen (Travis), Nicholas Patten (Lauren), Danika Patten Jessen (Brett) and Travis Patten; and his siblings, Charles Patten and Mary Shriver. He is also survived by grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories (965 Home Plaza, Waterloo, IA 50701). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (650 Stephan Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701). A burial was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mt Olivet Cemetery (3912 W 4th St, Waterloo, IA 50701).
