He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Brown and Marian Brown (Andreassen). He is survived by: his wife Cathey Kay McCarter; his children, Damon Crandall (Chaille) of Panora, Leah Barnes (Dylan) of Ankeny and Nicholas Brown of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Cruz, Cacen Crandall, Aiden, Avery Barnes and Natalie Brown; and his sister Bonnie Rieks of Harpers Ferry.
