She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick J. Doody and Laura E. Doody; and her brothers, R. Ellis Doody and Patrick Joseph Doody, Jr.. She is survived by: her nieces, Paula Doody Ryburn and Elizabeth Doody Koncsol; and her nephew James Michael Doody. She is also survived by three grandnieces; and, one great-grandniece.
She was recognized by The Way Up Organization for her contributions to advancing women in higher education and received honors from both the YWCA of Black Hawk County and the YMCA for her work toward eliminating racism and empowering women.
