He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Henry Gerdes, Sr. and Emma Mathilda Gerdes (Bakker). He is survived by: his wife Mari; his children, Christie Potter (Mark) of Chaska, MN and Lori Schneider (Tim) of Waterloo; his stepchildren, Mellissa Vig (Justin) of Faith, SD and Jason Biermann (Katie) of Anchorage, AK; and his brother Norman Gerdes (Cheryl) of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by grandchildren; great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home & Cremation Service (1825 W 12th St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
