He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Henry Gerdes, Sr. and Emma Mathilda Gerdes (Bakker). He is survived by: his wife Mari; his children, Christie Potter (Mark) of Chaska, MN and Lori Schneider (Tim) of Waterloo; his stepchildren, Mellissa Vig (Justin) of Faith, SD and Jason Biermann (Katie) of Anchorage, AK; and his brother Norman Gerdes (Cheryl) of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by grandchildren; great-grandchildren.
