With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter J. Combes of Cedar Falls, Iowa, who passed away on January 12, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Walter shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Walter farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Combes and Verna Combes (Pugh). He is survived by: his wife Jean Combes of Cedar Falls; and his children, Wally, Jeff, Victor (Kristi) and Stefanie Forrester of Waterloo. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and five siblings.
