It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alan Henry Rathje of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Atkins, Iowa, who passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Rathje and Louise Rathje (Gerhold); his sister Arlene McMann; and his brother-in-law Paul McMann. He is survived by : his wife Judy Rathje; his children, Jeff Rathje (Tammy), Jolene Rathje, Marvin Rathje (Sandy), Melvin Rathje (Elaine), Dale Snider (Billie), Charles Snider (Cindy), Kimberly Ohnesorge (Todd) and Christa Holtz (Ron); and his sister Maurine Rathje. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood (520 Wilson Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service (520 Wilson Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404).
