She was predeceased by: her sister Joanne Nelson; and her aunt Rose Anne Gussy (Thuente). She is survived by: her husband Chris Cummings of Cedar Rapids; her daughters, Mikayla (Nate), Gabriella Smith (Sam) and Haley; her parents, Jim Nelson and Kathy Nelson of Cedar Rapids; her brother Jay Nelson (Diana) of Cedar Rapids; her nephews, Josh (Carly), Matt, Eric and Kevin (Maddie); her sister Katia Loyd (Mike) of Mount Vernon; her children, Clayton, Selah and Caleb; her in-laws, Bill and Mary Cummings of Cedar Rapids; her brother-in-law Shawn Cummings (Jenn) of Colorado; and her nibling Aven.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 4:00 PM and on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (4949 Council St NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the following causes: · "Angie's Angel's Fund" which will help fund an XMS education program to help middle school teachers expand and grow in their craft, and other campus ministry programs such as retreats at the new middle school.
