She was predeceased by: her parents, John A. Rammelsberg and Bernice Rammelsberg (Hamilton); her siblings, Martha Holmes and John Rammelsberg; and her sister-in-law Billie Hoyt.

She is survived by: her children, Steve Hoyt of Marion, Bill Hoyt (Patty) of Huxley, Iowa, Jenny Hoyt (Mike Fowler) of Cedar Rapids and Terry Hoyt (Pam) of Cedar Rapids; and her sister-in-law Margaret Hagan of Chandler, Arizona.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials in Bernadine's honor be made to a charity of your choice.
