Betty Sass Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Sass of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Saint Libory, Nebraska, who passed away on May 18, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Peters and Irene Peters; her husband Willard Sass; her son-in-law David Waterman; her siblings, Lois Butler (Chuck), Wilbur Peters (Kathryn) and Virgil Peters; her brothers-in-law, Richard Light, Elmer Sass (Rose), Donald Sass and Arlo Sass; and her niece Lora Light.

She is survived by: her children, Sherry Waterman, Bev Nowak (Jim), Colleen Helland (Terry) and Dean Sass (Angie); her grandchildren, Kari Johnson (Jason), Kelly Phelps (Ben), Andrew Hurn (Bex), Kelsey Schumacher (Tim) and Courtney Helland; her great grandchildren, Natalie, Amy Johnson, Megan and Chloe Phelps; her sister Carol Light; her sisters-in-law, Sharon Peters and Lavonne Sass; and also, Jim Nowak (Angie), Sam Nowak (Kylie), Katie Nowak, Kristen Hindes (Jeff), Emma and Lucy Hindes. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made in Betty's name to Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
