As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Carolyn may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Carter and Inez Carter (Merrick); her brother Jack; and her former husband Donald Eckert. She is survived by: her children, David Eckert (Colleen), Londa Beaber and Angela Fischer (Troy); her husband William King of Cedar Rapids; and her sister Nancy Fox (Wes). She is also survived by five stepchildren; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service (520 Wilson Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
