It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Chad Michael Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Vinton, Iowa, who passed away on March 7, 2024, at the age of 43, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Leland Sprague, George M. and Maxine Smith; and his aunts, Mary Cecil and Dorothy Smith.

He is survived by: his parents, George F. "Fred" Smith and Debbra M Smith (Sprague) of Winthrop, IA; his brother Andy Smith (Alison) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandmother Beverly Sprague of Independence, IA; and his uncle Dennis Sprague (Pat) of Independence, IA. He is also survived by several cousins, and many close friends.
