He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Vermeersch; his daughter Michelle Marie Vermeersch; his parents, Adrian and Mary H. Vermeersch; and his siblings, Marie Ahrens, Rita Houser, Ray Vermeersch and Elaine Gaines.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lori Kurtz (James) of St. Petersburg, Nancy Vermeersch of Cedar Rapids and Linda Vermeersch of Cedar Rapids; and his grandson Logan Kurtz of San Rafael, California..
A rosary will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services (1844 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402). Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the All Saints Catholic Church (720 29th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (375 32nd St Dr SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403).
