He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Sr. Sheetz and Emma Sheetz (Ploeger); and his siblings, Nancy Reed, Grace Hartson, Oramae Cozart, Helen Mehsling, Mildred Trizani, Donald Sheetz and Merton Sheetz.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Sheetz; his children, Julie Condon (Sean) of Falcon and Jeff Sheetz (Peggy) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Patrick, Brenden, Alysha, Ben and Joseph; and his great grandchild Loretta.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service (520 Wilson Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Ludmila Catholic Church (211 21st Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404).
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial fund to be established.
