He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter McGrath and Anna McGrath (Lucas); his sons, Troy McGrath of Cedar Rapids and Paris McGrath (Capulet) of Cedar Rapids; and his former wife Eunice McGrath of Cedar Rapids.

He is survived by: his former wife Eunice Manemann; his daughters, Tami Pierson (Allan) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Tania Aboud (George) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Marymichael McGrath of Austin, TX.; his sister Coletta Schultz of Dubuque, IA.; his grandchildren, Christopher McGrath, Ashley Pierson-Patten, Jordan Hobbs, Jenna Spence, Lauren Aboud, Zackary Aboud and Madison McGrath; his great grandchildren, Carter, Kylie, Lincoln, Alia, Alaina, Violet, Jasper, Regan and Charly; and his siblings, Vernon McGrath (Eleanor) of Dubuque, Anna Mae Hoist (Albert) of Dubuque, Ralph McGrath (Bernadine) of Dubuque and Merlin'Bud'Schultz of Dubuque.
