Daniel Duane Merritt Obituary

We are sad to announce that on July 19, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Daniel Duane Merritt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, born in Springville, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Merritt and Evelyn Merritt Henle (Mayer); his siblings, Jerry Merritt and Lynne Crystal; and his nephew David Crystal.

He is survived by: his children, Jason Cisler, Dana Curtis, Danielle Gilbert, Eric Merritt (Gwendolyn) and Andrew Merritt; and his sisters, Janice Power-Brost, Karen Armstrong, Pat Swartz and Judy Merritt. He is also survived by extended family, friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Village Tap (1616 6th St SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404).

In lieu of flowers, donations to support the family with final arrangements can be sent via Venmo @Dan_Merritt_Fund or Cash App $danmerrittfund.
