As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though DeAnn may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her father Wayne Steinke; and her husband Jim Thompson. She is survived by: her mother Jeanne Steinke (Van Dyke); her children, Jimmy Thompson, Doug Thompson and Cassandra Thompson; and her siblings, Donald Steinke, Deborah Papesh, Douglas Steinke and Dennis Steinke. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the The Pines (2121 Bowling St SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404).
