She was predeceased by: her parents, Duayne Wolcott and Elizabeth Wolcott (Sommer); her husband Tom Ely; and her siblings, Sally Wolcott, Bob Clark, Joann Marks and Betty Clark.

She is survived by: her children, Joan Beatty of Shellsburg, John Ely (Julie) of Cedar Rapids, Wendy Shickles of Plato and Kathy Ely of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
