He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Otto and Edith Stamy (Lutz); his brother Dr. Richard O.; his sister-in-law Pauline Stamy; his sister Jean; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Sobek and Robert Taylor.
He is survived by: his significant other Joanne E. Hendricks of Cedar Rapids; and his sister Mary Susan Taylor of Solon, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous or a charity of the donor's choice in Don's memory.
