She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Shima and Rose Shima; her husband Ron Gilson; and the father of her children Marvin Pospisil. She is survived by: her children, Scott Pospisil (Linda), Penny Shedek (Keith) and Julie Lavrenz; and her brother Leo Shima (Elaine). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Brosh Chapel (2121 Bowling St SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
