He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Coonrod and Lillian Coonrod (Rawson); his daughter Kimberly Coonrod; his sibling's children, Keith Coonrod, David Spicer and Denise Spicer; and his brother-in-law Tom Delaney (Schnauzer).
He is survived by: his wife Frieda Coonrod of Cedar Rapids; his daughters, Dana Sjobakken (Kris) of Marion and Kelly Zbanek (Bill) of Shueyville; his granddaughters, Sara and Samantha Sjobakken; his siblings, Donald Coonrod (Shirley), Dorene Delaney and Diane Spicer; his brother-in-law Harold McCormick (Jean); his siblings' children, Karen Coonrod, Joni Delaney, Dean Spicer (Shelly), Tommy Delaney and Dan Delaney; his friend Speed; and his pets, Duke and PoJo.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Teahen Funeral Home (3100 F Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405).
Memorials may be directed to the family to be used for an established memorial fund.
