We announce the death of Eleanor Hoffmeyer Hearst of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 89. Eleanor will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her son Jon Hearst; her siblings, John Henry, Charles Everett and Barbara Jo; her brother-in-law Eugene Hearst (Sally); her parents-in-law, Carl and Bernice Hearst; her son-in-law Dennis D. Jacobs; and her parents, Everett S. Hoffmeyer and Frances Hoffmeyer (Richmond).

She is survived by: her husband Robert Hearst of Cedar Rapids; her children, Debra Roberts (Timothy) of Walford, Julie Hearst of Cedar Rapids and Joseph Hearst of Walford; her daughter-in-law Penny Hearst of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Ashley Hearst, Jodi Hearst (David Bogert), Nathan Jacobs (Mary Kate), Dani Kremer (Pat) and Nicole Flockhart (Mike); her great grandchildren, Abigail Hearst, Kaylee Kremer, Karson Kremer, Mikayla Flockhart and Alexandra Flockhart; her siblings, Marilyn Weber and Tom Hearst (Juanita); her nieces, Barbara Curtis and Cynthia Severson; and her nephew Douglas Weber.
