It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fern Schneider Carie of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on January 19, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Schneider and Hazel Schneider (Gay); her husband Vernon Carie; and her siblings, Charles Schneider and Marilyn Davis.

She is survived by: her daughter Jacquelyn Walker (John) of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Michelle Horak, Stacie Shannon (Patrick), Keri Cook (Trevor), Breanna Walker and Ryan Walker; and her great grandchildren, Matthew Shannon, Andrew Shannon, Aliyah Walker, Kaylee Cook, Kianna Cook, Trace Cook and Rylan Walker.

Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa, in place of flowers.
