With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Joseph Garin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on May 13, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his sons, Kevin and Gary; his siblings, Kathleen Troendle, Keith (Patty) and Leo; and his nephews, Mike Troendle, Randy and Nick Garin.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Roger (LaDonna) of Cedar Rapids, Vicki Atkins (Ray) of Cedar Rapids, Alan (Cindy Kelly) of Harpers Ferry and Rita White (Jeff) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Jillian Sandersfeld (Corey), Niall Garin (Lee), Shawn Mooney, Kelly Mooney (Shawn), Ryan Mooney, Jamie Garin, Seth Kelly (Alicen), Summer Garin, Garrett Garin (Shannon), Joshua and Noel White; his great grandchildren, Megan, Mallory, Luke Sandersfeld, Destinee Collins, Kenadee Luedeman, Joslyn Mooney, Vincent Mooney, Maximus, Rose, Augustus, Cruz, Kelly and Carter Garin; his sister-in-law Mary Lou Garin; and his grandchild Gerry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society, Greater Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, or charity of the donor's choice.
