He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Wheeler and Bertha Wheeler (Madson); his brother Kevin Wheeler; his nephew Michael Barlow; his siblings-in-law, Delvin Hand, Brenda Hand and Donna Hand; his stepmother Mary Wheeler; his stepbrother Raymond; and his sister-in-law Marsha Ingamells (Kaye Wheeler).
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Chafin (Scott), Cynthia Anderson (Eric) and Renea Wheeler (Carol); his grandchildren, Ben Anderson, Marissa Chafin and Katherine Anderson; his brothers, Richard, Duane (Shirley) and Ronald Wheeler (Linda); and his stepsisters, Carole Davis, Susan Elliott (Brian) and Patricia Ribbey (Patrick). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
