James Edwin Hanson Obituary

It is with sadness that the passing of James Edwin Hanson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa is shared. James, born on July 12, 1943, passed away on October 28, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Edwin Hanson to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his son Kirk Hanson; and his grandson Paul Bogs Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Corinne Hanson of Cedar Rapids; his children, Laura Hamilton (Steve) of Cedar Rapids, Kimberlee of Cedar Rapids, Angela Dunkel of Marion, Eric Hanson (Amber) of Tipton and Jason Hanson of Central City; and his stepchildren, Selena Mike (Marc) and Jesse Bowers. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
