He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. and Mildred Ruther Sawyer; his sister Karen Meyer; his brother-in-law Robert Meyer; and his father-in-law Glenn O. Mason.
He is survived by: his wife Laura; his children, Todd of Stanwood, Gina Tasler (Garry) of Phoenix, AZ and Bryan of Cedar Rapids; his brother Richard (Deborah) of Clarence; his grandchildren, Tyler Sawyer (Lauren), Nathan Sawyer (Matt), Austin Sawyer (Abby), Bailey Duncan (Lane), Trey Tesdahl, Cooper Sawyer and Carson Sawyer; his great grandchildren, Jaylyn, Landon, Brody, Gunner, Westin, Cohen, Grayson, Tate and Oliver; his mother-in-law Bonnie Mason of Red Oak; and his siblings-in-law, Glenn Mason (Marty) of Shenandoah and Beth Pfefferle (Todd) of Beverton, OR. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (311 5th Ave, Clarence, IA 52216).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Clarence Ambulance or Clarence Fire Department.
