It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Novak of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on June 5, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Berkenpas and Charleen Berkenpas (Reinking); her sister Diane Berkenpas-Bickal; and her nephew Greg McCleary. She is survived by: her husband Lester "Pete" Novak of Cedar Rapids; her children, Kyle Meyer of Center Point and Lois Dougherty (John) of Center Point; her grandchildren, Alaina Talley (Matt), Samantha VonSpreecken, Danielle Childs (Dylan), Christina Meyer and Austin Dougherty; her stepsons, David Novak of Toddville, Doug Novak (Kelly) of Winthrop, Dan Novak (Terri) of Shellsburg and Mark Novak (Heidi Clemens) of Palo; her siblings, Larry Berkenpas (Elaine) of Dixon, Illinois and Karla Berkenpas (David Greene) of Chesterfield, Virginia; and her niece Tracy Meza (Tony) of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
