Joan Chadima Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on April 24, 2026, Joan Chadima of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Joan farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joan is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Laurena Slach Nagel and Lloyd F. Nagel; her husband Warren; her sister Sandra Kemp of Greenville, SC; her daughters, Laura Chadima-Beer (Jeff Beer) of Cedar Rapids and Ann Charles (Brian) of St. Charles, IL; and her grandchildren, Kay White (Jared), Lauren Beer, Jack Charles and Emily Charles.

Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, Amana Arts Guild and the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library.
