It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Frederiksen (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), who passed away on April 3, 2026, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Joyce had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Joyce may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Houston and Mae Houston (Hinote); and her husband Lewis. She is survived by: her stepson Dennis Frederiksen (Joy); her grandchildren, Debbie Frederiksen of Kansas City, MO and Ed Frederiksen (Dawn); her stepgrandchildren, Hal Tetrick (Jennifer) of Hendersonville, TN and Hilary Tetrick-Pierce (Chad); and her great grandchild Reid Frederiksen.
The family asks that you make a donation in memory of Joyce to your favorite charity as there is no celebration of life service planned at this time.
