She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore DeForest and Dixie DeForest (Caldwell); her nieces, Lexi and Kassidy Harris; her close friend Linda Bixby; and her pet Ella Rue.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph Barber; her children, Joey Barber and Kim Harford (Jason); her grandchildren, Dylan Harford, Mia Barber and Jaden Barber; her siblings, Bob DeForest, Teddie DeForest Crabb (Kirby), Gayle Lentner (Scott Johnson) and Emily Portis; her nephews, Steve Hotz, James Smith and Ben Smith; and her great-nephew Leon White.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Woodpecker Lodge at Pinicon Ridge Park (1850 Woodpecker Hill Rd, Central City, IA 52214).
Memorial contributions may be given to Animal Welfare Friends.
