He was predeceased by: his parents, Friedrich Bayer and Dorothy Bayer (Krug); and his brother-in-law Terry Warnick. He is survived by: his siblings, Rev. Robert Bayer (Amy) and Julia Warnick (Terry). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home (808 4th St, Victor, IA 52347). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery (1340 17th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401).
