Leota left this world on February 10, 2026 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her husband William H. Burns; her son Douglas; her siblings, Francis "Sonny" Miller, Robert Miller, Lucille Brown, Doris Miller and Laura Lee Burns (Robert); her son-in-law Robert Ellis; and her parents, Nicholas Miller and Dorothy Schmitz Miller.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Duffy (Patrick) of Waldo, WI, June Ellis of Marion, David Burns (Debra) of San Jose, CA and Daniel Burns (Kay) of Marion. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
