He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Swindler and Minnie Swindler; and his father-in-law Mell O'Donnell (Lori). He is survived by: his wife Karen O'Donnell; his daughters, Cheri Philipp (Ed), Rene Schrader, Shelley Helms (Dan) and Kim Carney (Dan); his grandchildren, Chelsea Schultz (Brian), Matthew Finn (Bianca), Abram Philipp, Annie Manthe (CJ), Jackson Meyer, Andrew Schrader, AJ Schrader (Desarae Richter), Ashley Zimmerman (Mike), Brandon Helms, Blake Helms, Ben Helms, Hannah Helms, Jenna, Katie, Nick and Nolan Carney; his great grandchildren, Clare, Lucy, Teddy Schultz, Julia Finn, Justice Pickup, Kyler Zimmerman, Faith and Grace Schrader; his parents-in-law, Pauline O'Donnell, Dan O'Donnell, Angie Casey (Tim), Pat O'Donnell (Kathleen), Tom O'Donnell (Cheryl), Tim O'Donnell, Mike O'Donnell (Shelly) and Coleen Stevenson (Tom); and his friends, Rev. David O'Connor and Rev. Martin Laughlin. He is also survived by four daughters.

The family asks that memorials be directed to either the Les Swindler family, Hospice of Mercy, or St Joseph Catholic Church in Marion.
