Marcella Markham Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marcella Markham of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on June 3, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ole Ostern and Matilda Ostern (Omodt); her siblings, LaVonne Aasen, Orpha Jackson, Charles and Dale; her husband Dennis Francis Markham; and her children, Julie Griem and John.
She is survived by: her children, Marie Luke (John) of Marion, Thomas (Tammy) of Cedar Rapids and Daniel of Strawberry Point; her sisters, Ona Ellenson (Alan) of Gardner, ND and Carol Fettig (Leo) of Grand Forks, ND.; and her grandchildren, Kevin Luke (Lindsey), Sara Beauregard (Brandon), Alicia Luke (Greg), Nick Applen, Hannah Applen and Elena Brauer. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home (4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (4949 Council St NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402).
Memorials in Marcella's memory may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
