She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Mae Boddie (Yanders) and Jessie James Boddie; her former husband George Wilson Pirtle; and her siblings, James Robert Boddie, Charles Boddie and Jessie Mae Browning.
She is survived by: her husband Lafayette Smith; her sister Ruby Willard; her children, Joyce Daniels, Mae Bruce and Octavia Smith; and her stepchildren, George Pirtle, Michael Pirtle, Bruce Pirtle and Diane (Kiaundra Smith). She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; & many great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
