He was predeceased by: his brothers, Robert Lee Steward (Mary Louise) and Roman Steward; and his parents, Curtiss Steward and Ray Patrick. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Steward; his daughters, Paula Steward (Ken) and Vonda Steward (John); and his pets, Macy Gray and Misha Brielle. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorials may be made to the African American Museum of Iowa or Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in memory of Marvin Steward.
