He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Simoens and Gladys Simoens (Snyder); his wife Donna Simoens; and his siblings, Donald, Robert Simoens and Viola Toureen.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Simoens (Janelle Dietz) of Durant, Michael Simoens (Jackie) of Cedar Rapids, Krista Thompson of Van Horne and Keith Simoens (Kim) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren, Tiffany Lympus (Jonny), Travis Thompson (Jaynee), Briana Steffens (Jason), Ryan Simoens (Megan), Tyler Simoens (Alison) and Kelsey Deutsch (Daylis); and his sister Rose Shaver. He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service (520 Wilson Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404). A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
