With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nora Shay of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 29, 2026 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Nora departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Nora may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Nora leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dikran Kuyumijan and Sofia Kuyumijan; her brother Hovig Kuyumijan; and her former husband Lee Shay. She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer Anne Shay (Patton) and Anita Lynn Shay (Volk); her grandchildren, Alyssa, Ben Patton, Jaxon and Simon Volk; and her siblings, Sela Yacoubian of France and Kevork Kuyumijan of California.
