He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cortez and Mildred Kerr (Cannady). He is survived by: his children, Monique Derflinger (Joe), Jodelle Franklin (Damon), Crystal Shelton (Cory), Mike Cortez (Brenda) and Joe Cortez; his siblings, Frank (Chris), Lola (Tony), Connie, Violet (Dave), Sandi and Jose; his daughter Justine; and his siblings, Henry, Joe, Carl, Skip, Rada and Yolanda. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
