He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Sturm and Gladys "Mugga" Sturm; his wife Sandra Luke; his parents-in-law, John and Genevieve Luke; his stepfather John Crumbaugh; his brother Frank, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Kathy Sturm.
He is survived by: his sons, Ted Sturm (Kimberly) of Cedar Rapids, Robert Sturm of Shellsburg, David Sturm (Maguette) and Steven Sturm (Sue) of Grays Lake, IL; his grandchildren, Scott Sturm (Lisa Hajek), Jill Ahrendsen (Jordon), Laura Saunders (Greg), Mai Holden (Corey), Rei Sturm (Weijia), Aicha Sturm, Nataile Sturm and Eric Sturm; his great grandchildren, Jax Sturm and Logan Holden; and his cousin Doug Havlick (Millie).
