He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Hendrickson and Lucille Hendrickson (Hepker); and his siblings, Stanley Hendrickson and Alberta Burkhart. He is survived by: his wife Janice Ann Kuddes of Cedar Rapids; his children, Tammy McKenna (Kevin), Stacy Shey (Tom), Shelly Sampson (Paul) and Richard E. Hendrickson Jr. (Lisa); and his brother Franklin Hendrickson (Marcia). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service (520 Wilson Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (120 5th St NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405). A burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery (4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402).
