Richard Luse Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 9, 2022, at the age of 95, Richard Luse of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wives, Margaret Jane and Jane Mettler Mrkvicka; his children, Willis Ira Luse and Gail Nix (Bill); his granddaughter Denise Johnson; his great grandchild Natalie Washburn; his siblings, John Luse (Margaret), Ed Luse, David Luse, Howard Luse, Eleanor Hagen (Merlin), Marjorie Luse, Marian Luse and Margaret Luse; and his parents, Clark Luse and Mabel Clare Field Luse.

He is survived by: his children, Gloria Walkte (Calvin) of Marion, Carrie Carnahan (Bill) of Marion, Sue Maher (Mike) of Cedar Rapids, Carla Kelley (Dan) of Cedar Rapids and Gregory Loehr of Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Beth Waltke, April Evers (Luke), Michelle Hocraffer (Mark), Toni Delagardelle (Scott), Billy Nix (Corinne), Angela Niesz, Amber Raney (Dan), Nick Long, Carolin Long, Cora Carnahan (Andy Russ), Keaton Carnahan, Dave McDonough (Gina), Dan McDonough and Dee Johansen (Ray); his daughter-in-law Mary Luse; and his sisters-in-law, Deloris Luse, Gale Luse and Jeanne Luse. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for charities of their choice.
