He was predeceased by: his parents, George Rust and Tonnie Rust (Muller); and his siblings, Joe Rust, Bernese Henderson and Evelyn Schroeder.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Rust of Cedar Rapids; his children, Wayne Rust (Lisa) of Colorado and Teri Rust of Washington; and his grandchildren, Allison, Lauren, Adam and Abby. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
